Bluegrass Scenic Railroad and Museum

175 Beasley Road

Welcome to the Bluegrass Scenic Railroad and Museum. We are an all volunteer 501c3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and display of the history of railroading in Central Kentucky

The Bluegrass Railroad Museum offers visitors a chance to learn more about rail travel in Kentucky. When you arrive, you will see several pieces of rolling stock and other items of historical interest in our "yard." Come inside the station and tour the museum. Many of our displays have been donated by members and friends of BGRM. Enjoy the "N" scale model train layout in our lobby. Purchase train themed items in our gift shop. And on weekends (May thru Oct. & Dec.), climb aboard one of our diesel powered excursions for a relaxing trip through horse country in Versailles, KY. The everchanging countryside makes it a scenic tour year round. Would you like to bring your school group, company or civic organization? Call us for information about a private tour and excursion. We also offer packages for birthdays, weddings and family reunions.

First class is absolutely the only way to go. It is five bucks more but you are in air condition for summer or heat for the cold days. Make sure to get there 45 minutes before but no later than 30 minutes. First class boards first and it is first come seating. Coach seating has no air or heat. At the mid way point you get off train and can see the Wild Turkey plant in the distance. Glad I did this experience.

Loved the museum, the train ride, the information, but would like picnic tables to eat the lunch we brought because there isn't really a place near there to eat. They had two benches. We used one but gave it up to an elderly couple while they waited to board the train. Other than that, the place is wonderful!

Beautiful scenic route! I wish they provided more information about the history of that particular railroad instead of the horse farms we we're passing.
