Kentucky Center for Native American Arts and Culture

Our mission
Our mission is to honor and celebrate the Native American heritage and contributions to the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the Ohio River Valley region and contiguous states.

Goals & Objectives:
To provide education about the Native American heritage and contributions to the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the Ohio River valley and contiguous states.
To promote research of Native American cultures and history within Kentucky.
To promote further economic development in the Kentucky through Native American tourism.
To promote the development of Native American arts and culture in Kentucky.
To provide a gathering place for Native American peoples.
The Vision & Dream:
The concept of a Native American Arts and Cultural Center should be approached as a "vision", a dream of all that could be. From a more practical perspective, the realization of an Arts and Cultural Center will take much planning and collaboration between the Native American peoples of Kentucky, the Commonwealth of Kentucky and many other interested parties.
The planning must be thorough and seen as a long-range development plan, i.e., a 10-year plan. This allows for pulling together federal and state planning monies, drawing up of architectural plans, building alliances with federal, state, and regional interests, such as economic development and tourism.
